More than Just Three Letters

We know what you’re thinking: F*** My Life.

We’re not going to lie—that sentiment was one of the building blocks of this business. Established in 2024, FML Aquaculture was born out of a grit-teeth desire to stop working for the others and start building something for ourselves and the people who matter most—the families, pond owners, and fishing enthusiasts across the West.

Today, those letters have evolved. They’ve come to represent a variety of meanings, like Fishing Mountain Lakes, but our favorite—and the one we’ve built this company around—is Families Making Legacies. We aren’t a faceless corporation or a massive franchise. We are a husband-and-wife team dedicated to one goal: ensuring that when you walk down to your water, you’re looking at a thriving, healthy fishery that will provide stories for you, your children, your grandchildren, and your customers for years to come.

When you buy fish from FML, you’re buying from Anthony. With over a decade spent managing the region’s most prominent trout farms, Anthony brings "Big Hatchery" knowledge to a personal, owner-operator level. During his 10+ years of overseeing multi-state trout operations, he served as a board member of the Colorado Aquaculture Association. His expertise is state-recognized; since 2017, he has served multiple terms as a Governor-appointed member of the Colorado Aquaculture Board, helping set the standards for the entire industry.

If FML is the engine, Melissa is the fuel. While she has spent several years in aquaculture, her true strength is building community and relationships. She is the social heart of our operation who thrives on people, conversation, and family. Melissa focuses on the big-picture for FML’s promise: Families Making Legacies. She gives everyone a warm, personal connection, making FML feel less like a supplier and more like a partner in building your family’s legacy. When she’s not managing the office, she’s managing the beautiful chaos of raising three kids—an experience that makes her uniquely qualified to understand the needs and the deep meaning behind your own family’s legacy.
